Hello Marie-Eve thank you for taking the time. Can you tell us how you got interested in boxing when you were younger?

My first love was martial arts, I was involved in karate since the age of 6 but always dreamed of going to the olympics. Since karate is not an olympic discipline I decided at the age of 24 to switch into boxing so I can get a shot at going at the games.

What boxers did you look up to when starting your career?

The boxer I was looking up to was Roy Jones Jr, I loved is flashy style and also his skills and ring IQ.

How exciting is it to be part of such a popular boxing scene in Quebec?

It is like in a dream, I feel like everyone is involved in my wins and when I get into the ring and hear the crowd cheers and gives me so much energy and a will to accomplish that is indescribable. It is like the whole province is behind me and wants to be part of my adventure.

For our Fight Fans who don’t know much about you yet, can you describe your fighting style?

I am a tall boxer with a good reach that uses her physical abilities in the ring. My footwork and my speed is what differs me from pretty much all my opponent. In all humility, I think my fights can be pretty spectacular because I don’t box like what people would expect from a girl 😛

What can fans expect to see on Thursday night?

I think Thursday night fight will be a revelation. I feel great and have had an amazing camp where we developed a lot of stuff working on my weaknesses. I am ready to shine and give the best performance yet in my career.
