Rixa Promotions in association with Grant Brothers Boxing have another hot night of fistic action set for Montreal area Fight Fans when they return to the boxing hotbed known as Tohu this Saturday, Sept. 9th.
Rising undefeated Montreal-based super middleweight Erik Bazinyan (16-0, 11 KOs) is set to headline in the main event taking on taking on 42-bout German veteran Bernard Donfack (23-16-3, 11 KOs). The 22 year old product of Yerevan, Armenia now fights out of Laval and he’s been turning heads in recent years during his charge up the 168-pound Canadian ranks. Here are comments from former world champion Otis Grant on his protégé and what fans can expect to see Saturday night:
After a late addition to the card, Montreal area Fight Fans will get a look at ‘The Real Deal’ Ryan Ford (12-0, 7 KOs) of Edmonton, Alberta who will box in a co-featured attraction. Ford was set for a major marquee fight in the United Kingdom taking on undefeated light heavyweight Anthony Yarde on Sept. 16 but the bout fell apart due to promotional difficulties. England’s loss is Quebec’s gain as the former MMA star will be making his boxing debut in the La Belle Province after spending multiple training camps there over the last few years. Ford is set to face Mexico’s Joaquin Murrieta in a stay-busy fight set for six rounds.
Other fighters set to see action are local fan favourite Roody ‘Rude Boy’ Pierre Paul and rising lightweight Golden Garcia who are both set to showcase themselves in co-featured bouts. The card is jam packed with local talent to the tune of NINE pro bouts tentatively scheduled to go down.
