Brandon ‘L-Jack’ Brewer scores a career best win on home soil in New Brunswick, ‘Hocus Pocus’ Saskatoon’s Gary Kopas wins Canadian Cruiserweight title!

Undefeated Maritimes based junior middleweight Brandon Brewer (21-0-1, 11 KOs) scored one of the most impressive wins of his career to date with a dominant and wide ten round unanimous decision victory over Sydney, Australia based Nigerian… King Davidson (18-3, 12 KOs) Saturday night. It was the main event at a frenzied Aitken Centre in Fredericton, New Brunswick packed with “Plaid Army” members in tow to support the local star dubbed “L-Jack”. It was Brewer’s first victory of 2017 after reeling off three consecutive stoppage victories in 2016.

The co-main event of the evening was a barn-burner (as expected) that saw Saskatoon, Saskatchewan’s Gary ‘Hocus Pocus’ Kopas capture the vacant Canada – Professional Boxing Council (C.P.B.C.) cruiserweight title with a tenth round TKO of the always game and gallant David Whittom.

Update: It has come to our attention that David Whittom was injured in the bout and is currently in a medically induced coma. Our thoughts and prayers are with David and his family.

In a special co-featured bout, local undefeated heavyweight attraction Chris Norrad of Boiestown, New Brunswick moved to 15-0 (7 KOs) with a fourth round stoppage of Alberto Martinez.
