United Boxing Promotions brought professional boxing back to Peterborough, Ontario Saturday night with a six bout card at the Memorial Centre. According to reporter / photographer Lance Anderson of ‘Peterborough This Week’, Ontario’s own Cody ‘The Crippler’ Crowley (12-0, 6 KOs) captured a C.P.B.C. International title with a ten round unanimous decision win over Mexican veteran Edgar Ortega. This was Crowley’s first bout in 2017 after picking up four victories in 2016 to quickly move up the Canadian ranks.

Other results from the Peterborough card include Michael Affainie moving to 5-0 as a professional with a six round unanimous decision win over David Martinez, Abokan Bokpe stopped Javier Dario Lardapide in Round 3 and Jerome Gabriel won a unanimous four round decision over Maximiliano Ezequiel Ledesma.
Meanwhile, in Western Canada…John Mendonca’s Alliance Promotions brought professional action back to the Alberta capital with “MAY MAYHEM” at the Howard Johnson Hotel in Edmonton.

In the main event of the evening former Canadian super welterweight champion Kris Andrews picked up a victory on the comeback trail with a TKO at the 2:59 mark of Round 3 stopping Mexico’s Diego Rivera.
