By Ace Freeman (23-Nov-2013)
Evgeny Gradovich TKO 9 Billy Dib
In a rematch of their March 2013 first encounter, Evgeny Gradovich proved his earlier win was no fluke by taking the fight to Billy Dib and stopping him in Round 9. The bout was the co-feature of the anticipated Pacquiao-Rios pay-per-view card in Macau, China, as seen live on HBO. It was a bit of a boxing match in the early rounds but Gradovich pulled away in the middle of the fight really finding dib at the end of his hard punches. After scoring a knockdown in the seventh, Gradovich upped the pressure and the bout was finally stopped at the 1:10 of Round 9. With the win Gradovich retained his IBF featherweight title.
Zou Shiming W UD6 Juan Tozcano
Former Chinese Olympic Gold Medalist Zou Shiming scored a commanding six round shut-out decision victory over Juan Tozcano moments ago in Macau, China. Shiming looked very fast and polished from the outset and put his punches together in combination. While the former Olympic hero displayed blazing fast hands and good movement, his power didn’t seem to be enough to get Tozcano out of there. Zou continued pressing the pace and it lead him to a shutout decision win on all three cards to delight the locals in attendance.
Felix Verdejo W UD6 Petchsamuthr Duanaaymukdahan
Rising Puerto Rican light welterweight charge Felix Verdejo looked fluid and quick handed but found his well traveled opponent Petchsamuthr Duanaaymukdahan a tough nut to crack on route to a six round unanimous decision victory. It was the opening bout on the anticipated Pacquiao-Rios pay-per-view telecast live from the Cotai Arena at theVenetian Resort in Macau, China. Verdejo was the quicker and busier fighter throughout, but Duanaaymukdahan took a tremendous amount of punishment and lasted the distance. After six rounds were in the books all three judges had the bout a shutout for Verdejo who remains undefeated with the win tonight.
