Quotes
By Ace Freeman (08-May-2011)
Eighty year old hall of fame promoter Bob Arum addressed the media last night at the MGM Grand about what’s next for Manny Pacquiao.

Bob Arum: “Manny Pacquiao would beat the hell out of Floyd Mayweather. I guarantee it. And there’s a very wise and savvy boxing expert who knows that better than anyone and his name is Floyd Mayweather Jr. The situation with Floyd has not changed. He told us at the Super Bowl that if he comes back he intends to take a tune up first. That would put a potential fight with Manny to next year at the very least. If that’s a fight he wants he knows where to find us, but as of now we have heard nothing from him.”
“We have sent a contract to Juan Manuel Marquez who requested a few changes in it. We have revised it and plan to send it back to him. At that time Golden Boy will have the option to match. If they do, the fight won’t happen. If they don’t, Manny Pacquiao will fight Marquez in his next fight this fall.”
“If not Juan Manuel Marquez, we will target Tim Bradley or Zab Judah for Manny’s next fight in the fall.”

Bradley is alright, but Judah… comon, he has no chance! Put Sergio Martinez on the list, he actually has a chance…
What ever happened to Joshua Clottey? He should fight Paul Williams next, the winner of that fight should take on the winner of Cotto-Margarito, this is logical as they are all 4 hungry for revenge and wants back into the big picture, and the fights are bound to be awesome, the first once were!

I really agree that marquez will be a very good opponent for pacquiao. After fight in Marquez, Mayweather should fight Paquiao. Then pacquiao can cement his legacy.

my simple prediction in PAC VS JMM III
pac vs jmm = at 130 lbs, JMM will win
pac vs jmm = at 130 lbs, both fighters has the weapons to win
pac vs jmm = at 140 lbs or higher, pac will easily kill jmm.

Simply Zealous Says:
Who’s next..Marquez? At welterweight, Pacquiao will send him in the Hospital or worst the morgue! If Marquez still thinks that the Pacquiao he wants to fight the third time is the same as the Pacquiao he fought twice before… then he’s asking for his own death wish! And its so certain that Manny will not be so merciful on him when they fight the way Marquez trash talked him.

jmm23 Says:
pacquiao cannot even get to the 147lbs at the actual fight and you want martinez who will be averaging 165-175lbs on fight day to slug it out on the ring … come on be logical martinez is to big for pacquiao … pacquiao at 147lbs is already stretching it his ideal weight division is on 135 and 140 …….

bbtroy Says:
Should have been a toss between Berto and Marquez (among the other choices before Mosley)but Berto blew his chance by bowing out to Ortiz. Marquez is the next practical opponent. I hope Marquez proves his claim he beat Manny twice and is not intimidated in any way by the Pacman. Else, he’ll just be another Clottey or Mosley who’s in there for the money!

ben kisla Says:
Packy has the right to relax once in a while. He’s been fighting all his life. We want Pacquiao to fight for several years and by keeping him away from constant banging of his body he’s able to enjoy life. I also want to see Packy enjoy the fruit of his success besides if he earns more, the bulk of his income will generate more business for him and more employment opportunities and project/s for his hometown. We know how generous Pacquiao is. That is why he is so blessed!. Just imagine the revenue he generates for Las Vegas and all his entourage…the flow of money is there.. so let’s just be contented with Pacquiao’s performance…don’t expect too much from him, he’s been giving us good fights for so many years, now, it’s time that he enjoys every minute of fame and power while he remains healthy…

anybody that want a shot with pacman should weigh at most 147lb. come on, manny is’nt even at 147. he’s only 145. so the idea of martinez pac should consider also pacman’s side of the equation.
May 9th, 2011 at 5:43 am

Ping Says:
pacman is now becoming bad for the sports of boxing, because he has retired many of the good fighters, someday no one will be left to entertain boxing fans. just my 2 cents ha ha ha.

what do you think has happened to richardson’s rubix puzzle? did he solved it or not? I think yes… by employing vedic law, to not counter the force of nature because no one can. going against it is useless and surely face utter demise.

have you seen how miserable the face of mosley when he kissed the canvass? you should understand him for retreating afterwards. he has acquired mannyphobia on that very same point of the bout. he just want to enjoy the rest of his life that’s it. what’s the use of $7M if he’s blind, broken spine, or got damaged brain afterwards?

now that’s what i call potentially good matchups to further cement pacman’s legacy let him destroy JMM but must be weary of Timothy “desert storm butthead” Bradley head by stipulating in the fght contract that he has to pay 1M dollars for every intended headbutts during the fight, to ensure a clean fight if it ever happen..bring it on!

Gil P. Acosta Says:
I am very sure that Pacquaio can defeat Martinez. The only problem is at what catch weight? I really don’t want putting Pacquiao against a very large opponent. At 150 lbs will favor Martinez at Pacquiao’s expense. Martinez can easily rehydrate to 160 and beyond if the catch weight will be at 150. While Pacquiao can only rehydrate at a maximum of 150. Beyond that, Pacquiao will be very slow.
May 9th, 2011 at 9:33 am

J. P. Says:
@ Gil P. Acosta
It may also be tough since Pacquiao probably wouldn’t move up in weight after the weigh-in since he said he cannot move as well.

RG Says:
Mosley hurt Floyd in the 2nd round but Mosley never hurt Manny. On the other hand, Manny put Mosley down which Floyd never did. If you do the math, this will result to Floyd ducking Manny forever.
Manny will not only hurt Floyd but he will send him to the hospital just like he did to Cotto and Margo.
May 9th, 2011 at 1:04 pm
Floyd will never fight Manny unless he is in a financial quagmire as he is now.
-
Special Hit Says:
Manny already cemented his legacy, he doesn’t need scared floyd. We can skip girlweather he’s history!
May 9th, 2011 at 2:19 pm
Manny should fight Sergio Martinez at 154lbs. to aim for his 9th title then retire!
Marquez can wine all he wants, this fight won’t happen due to Oscar dela hoya being a poor promoter when it comes to getting his fighters up against Top Rank fighters. Their ego’s won’t allow one to get over on another.
Pacquiao vs Martinez lets go!

Mayweather doesn’t care for $50 million if he has to face Pacquiao w/out taking a drug test up to the fight night. Good decision Mayweather and you and you fans think you are in the right track. To elaborate the situation, really, who they think they’re fooling. I do agree with you.

pacquiao only looked for the title in a catchweight against margarito, he didnt mean to be undisputed at 154.. and heck it was even in a catchweight..
remember roy jones jr vs john ruiz, it was kind of the same, roy saw he could dominate ruiz and hand picked him just for the title, and i think theres nothing wrong with it.
