While no news on the Pacquiao vs. Mayweather negotiations is expected this week, Bob Arum did hint at optimism at a Las Vegas press conference this week.
Top Rank Promotion’s Bob Arum sat down with Golden Boy Promotion’s CEO Richard Schaefer (who will be representing Team Mayweather in negotiations) this week to begin talks that hope to pit mega stars Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. against one another in a 2010 showdown that would surely be one of the biggest fights in boxing history. Both sides have told the press they are under a strict gag order not to divulge any information on the negotiations, yet Arum in particular has been quite vocal about the parties vying to become the venue for the proposed fight. Sources suggest many powerful groups in Las Vegas are hard at work trying to keep the fight in Sin City. A proposed temporary outdoor stadium on the Las Vegas strip is being considered, as are the MGM Grand and the Thomas and Mack Center. Two other large venues making a play are the new $1.3 billion, 80,000-seat Dallas Cowboy’s stadium in Arlington, Texas as well as the 70,000-seat Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans. With the talk about venues heating up, the prospects for the super fight coming off sound promising.
“There’s really not much I can say,” a tight lipped Arum said Tuesday. “We had one meeting, it was a good meeting, and we’ll talk again over the next few days.”

i pray this fight happens- imo mayweather has the edge due to his excellent defence and counterpunching ability. I believe he will be able to time mannys rushes, and keep him off balance. but alas, anything can happen

Pacman will wear Loudmouth down with shots to the body and head. His defense will show up in the first few rounds but the relentless attack of Manny will soon take its toll. While Floyd’s surgical jabs can only do so much and will never hurt Manny, I see Floyd on the run most of the fight. The much faster and stronger Pacquiao will land the telling punches that will eventually break Floyd down. TKO in 10 for PACMAN.

Floyd “the running man” Mayweather cannot hurt the Pacman in any way, that’s for sure.. He’s an excellent deffender/counterpuncher, so what? He’s got no power, he will taste defeat for the 1st time and it’s gonna be ugly.. No more Prettyboy, only Money!
