Wow! Some pretty harsh critism on here from some posts. I would think Sonsona would be one hella of a prospect being only 19 with 15 fights. The kid showed maturity beyond his years in his last fight, even though I thought Hernandez pulled off the decision squeaky out the last few rounds.I challenge anyone on here who can find a prospect/contender of world class level at 19years old with only 15 with the ability of Sansona.Also Kyle, it is only in Ontario not all of Canada that has the same day weigh inns. Orion being a first class organization, the Ontario commision in one of the worst in North America.

I think Sonsona had a wrong trainer, his son just fired him what! It is not like in US that weigh-in is one day before fight night, so even overweight by 5 or 8 lbs you can still rehydrate. They forgot Canada ruling that weigh-in will be at the same day before the fight and look at Sonsona, weak & dehydrated.

Trainer should know this, even how big the heart, if you are feeble, you become so slow and no power in your punch.

Getting cocky before the fight, then failing to deliver, then making excuses after the fight — that can’t be a good sign. I hope it humbles him enough to see that, but a draw isn’t going to shake someone’s perspective like a loss does.

This kid would not accomplish even 1/4 of what packy has done. He’s just overrated. Making excuses for a lousy performance is a bad sign. Better he didn’t said he hurt he’s left hand…like donaire…lol

thats weird because i was there at the rama for the last two fights of marvin… i dont think he grew, he look the same to me three months ago.. i took pics beside him from the lopez and hernandez, seems to be the same height… im taller than him and i would notice if he grew….So i dont know where that 1.5 inches issue is coming from…

Marvin, congratulations! Good luck with your next training and fight at a higher weight coz you grew addl 1.5inches in the last 2 months! Don’t let the detractors affect you. We will support you. I predicted Sonsona will have harder times in his future fights after getting the belt from Caritas mainly because he is not yet prepared for the big stage, and I was right. He won the belt against Caritas who is a very weak champion (37 years old to become a champ) with a style tailored-fit for Sonsona.

If Sonsona will be rushed for bigger fights at 122, the kid may end up in a pit. He will be fighting bigger and meaner guys and his lack of experience will be to his detriment.

The best thing is to bring him up slowly again perhaps 1-2 years of fighting at 118-122 with experienced but less risky opponents so that he will be ready to bang with the big boys.

if marvin has a big heart, he should retire from boxing.
boxing is very strenous, heart is always pump up.
with marvin having a big heart is bad,it is abnormal. boxer should have normal heart just like normal people.
we cannot win with a big heart.
