Joan Guzman vs. Ali Funeka: Majority Draw 12
Lightweights Joan Guzman and Ali Funeka opened things up in moments in Quebec, Canada with a hard fought twelve round fight that was declared a majority draw. Guzman looked sharp early but was cut badly by a clash of heads. In the middle rounds the fight began to turn and Funeka really took it to Guzman. Using his height and reach well the South African charge rocked Guzman with a big right hand in Round 10 and finished the fight strong. After twelve rounds were complete two scorecards had the bout even at 114-114 while the third card saw Funeka up 116-112. As a result of the majority draw the IBF lightweight title remains vacant.

ANOTHER GOLDEN BOY PAID JUDGES, WHEN WILL THIS CORRUPT COMPANY STOP DOING THIS? THEY DID THIS ON THE DIAZ=MALIGNAGGI, NOW OBVIOUSLY THEY COULDN’T AFFORD ANOTHER GOLDEN BOY FIGHTER TO LOSE. SHAME, SHAME, SHAME ON YOU GOLDEN BOY!

this decision was ridiculous. funeka won that fight hands down. i was shocked when they read the judges’ scorecards. funeka got robbed big time

It’s a shame! Funeka clearly won the fight. The judges were either blind or sleeping, they should be banned and sent to the boondocks.
