First off, Cotto stopped Corely, it wasn’t a decision. Second, one of the four fights after that saw him get rocked all over the ring by Ricardo Torres, who he also came back to stop.

I wouldn’t call it an excuse when he won those fights, but fighters do sometimes have trouble with their legs and punch resistance when sucking to make weight.

Two of the other fights post Corley were against light punchers in Malignaggi and Branco.

I think this is a bit unfair as well. Ask Floyd Mayweather about Chop Chop’s power. He rung Floyd harder than pretty much anyone else ever has.

I wouldn’t call him a big puncher, but he’s got some pop for sure.

Cotto is a true champion. If Pacquiao wants to win its not going to be by decision. When he lost to margarito it was a questionable fight. But like I said margarito had to earn it even if he cheated.

My point is Chop Chop is a pillow puncher and no where near as fast or elusive as Pacquiao. Cotto will get tagged all night and eventually knocked out late, probably 9-10.

Will you excuse be that Cotto was dehydrated when he loses to Pacquiao 11-14-2009 Cotto Fans?

What previous fights did Manny have? The one where he can knocked out by a body shot? The two where can got outboxed by two other boxers? Morrales an Marquez (twice). Cmon man Manny is good at beating up old, dehydrated, past their prime fighters. I wont be surprised if Roach throws in the towel after this first round just to protect Manny, so he can fight another bum another day an win his 7th title that way.

I hope that this Joe Santiago can still remember all what he just said in this report after the fight….same as others…Joe may shout “Cotto was over trained”, “cotto failed to follow his instruction”, cotto had problem with cuts”….after the fight, he’ll start thinking for the excuses…
