MAYWEATHER: FOR LOVE OR MONEY – A Short Documentary by Ron Gabriel
…With little delay Floyd was gloved up and in the ring with Uncle Roger. The two have a remarkable chemistry in working the mitts together. They began and the beat was humming like a song. Floyd had built up a sweat quickly and he looked slim but thick in the arms and shoulders. As always, the activity of hitting the pads seemed secondary for Floyd. It is always the twisting of his torso, hips, and the maneuvering of his feet that seem to be the focus in this particular exercise.
There is something special about watching Mayweather at work that sets him apart from other fighters. He is like a fish in water in the ring, and the act of punching – which is paramount in boxing – is but an aside as Mayweather’s focus seems pin pointed on movement. Movement in milliseconds. The mechanics he practices while in the ring supersede the typical training routine and it is always nothing short of amazing to see him at work.
I have seen Floyd in training for his last few fights and can safely say he looks as sharp in the gym as he ever has. How that will translate on fight night in front of thousands of people and television cameras remains to be seen but tension in the face of pressure has never been something Floyd has had a problem with. His temperament in the ring in marquee title fights is no different than when he’s going through the motions of shadow boxing in camp. It’s all just another day in the life, and the pressures of keeping up with his villain alter ego seem a much more daunting task for Floyd than the act of fighting itself.
In the ring, there is no need for thinking. The inquiring voices fade to the background.
“Whether things are going good or bad, when I get in that squared circle I forget all about what’s going on,” Mayweather said. “I go out there to do what I’ve got to do and that’s to preform. I don’t think about anything else. I just go out there to preform and have fun. It’s what I do.”…click here to read more

I’m just wondering why floydfans and pacfans came true and it’s like a mushroom that pop-up from nowhere. maybe the pacfans are more jealous to mayweather. because all we’ve know this debate has began when mayweather tried to came back in the ring.
and for myself I’d think 93% who hated mayweather is a filipino and the 7% the others.
know why because mayweather and pacquiao are fighting for the best.
they say mayweather fighting aren’t true welterweight but when pacquiao following the path of mayweather they’ve said yes his fighting true and great welterweight. see it bias already!what if mayweather is a filipino maybe this guy is a genius.
do you imagined that mayweather is a natural featherweight? and not belong to middleweight lvl.
“PACFANS” are always saying negative, dumb ass but don’t have a proof.

Cool Video! one thing though, the sound of the mexican guitar and beat with Mayweather in it makes it a little more intriguing. ;) It should have been Marquez there. But I liked it anyway!
Who will win? I really hope that Marquez would upset Mayweather in this one. Not because drinking his own pee would help, but he has the will and heart to do so! Mexican pride!

go go go fraud mayweather jr! keep on fighting them losers and nobodies, those you can toy around inside the ring. if you want a real fight, and i say REAL fight, better sign up to fight PACMAN next! but i know you wont do that, youre not that stupid. you’re scared, chicken, pussy, but not stupid.

…because as soon as you sign up to fight PACMAN, better say goodbye that very moment to your perfect record…perfect, but fabricated record.

it took you 12 rounds to win against oscar, over split decision. it took only 8 rounds for PACMAN to TKO oscar. it took you 10 rounds to KO ricky. now PACMAN only needed lessthan 2 rounds to do the trick. now do your analysis…you pussy, self declared “best pound-for-pound” fighter.

froggy Says:
yes piggy. Floyd was only being nice and respectful to Oscar for giving him the opportunity to make millions and millions of dollars he only let Oscar survive out of compassion and gratitude. And with Ricky Hatton it took Floyd longer because he wanted to give the fans a turnbuckle knockout.

I should say Floyed jr. must focus training his feet rather than his hands because he do alot of running rather than trowing a punch. He is an athlete no doubt but in a diffrent game he should be a sprint runner.

gorgeus Says:
that’s not what you do for sure floyd. say it facing manny pacquiao, and i will begin to believe that it’s true. why can’t you make as much pretty preparation against a fight with manny pacquiao? Why is the sound of manny pacquiao so terrible to you? Make your preparations as you did against marquez for manny pacquiao or even better. Your bloated lips are easy to say anything but so short of mentioning a fight against manny pacquiao.

JayMoney832000 Says:
Manny is fighting diminished fighters. A fighter that takes a loss to Floyd is coming to the realization that they are going to be washed up after fighting him. Then manny comes along and fights the washed up version of that fighter. Just look at the list. De la hoya washed. Hatton washed. Cotto washed. Clottey not even in the same league. Margarito washed. Floyd fights them first then Pacman fights them. There is no other fight for him in the division except Floyd. Both are great fighters but there are no other fighters to fight. Pacman never beat the true P4P champion that is the rule it is vacated because Floyd retired. It’s up to Pacman to seek out Floyd not Floyd to seek out Pacman

james Says:
floyd disappeared because he almost got beaten by dela hoya.. manny ripped dela hoya apart when floyd was supposed to fight dela hoya on a rematch.. tsk.. if he wasn’t scared to lose, he should have fought dela hoya before dela hoya struck a deal to fight manny.. i thought we were talking about who’s the better fighter.. one can only be called a fighter if he fights.. the secret is in the root word – FIGHT..

John Says:
When is a scribe with some nerve going to write the obvious. I’m not a writer, but I am a huge supporter of boxing, so I’ll get you little sissies started.
Why, when Cotto was undefeated, and at the pinnacle of his popularity and earning power, did Fruity Flotd not push for a fight with hi????
Why, BEFORE Margarito was exposed as a cheater, on a winning streak and at the height of his earning potential with a huge Mexican fan base bringing top dollar, and seen as a legitimate threat to Floyd, did Mayweather not fight him????
Why, when looking for an opponent before finally settling on the smaller Marquez, did Mayweather actually mention Matthew Hatton as a possible opponent when he could have mentioned Clottey, Cintron, or Bradley????
Why did Mayweather never push for an intriguing fight with Paul Williams before he was destroyed by Martinez????
Now that Martinez has expressed the willingness to drop in weight and fight Mayweather, why is Mayweather so quiet on this front too????
Why does Mayweather mention that nothing new would be seen if he were to fight Pacquiao because Pacquiao has already been beaten and knocked out, yet he fought Judah, DeLaHoya, Marquez, and others who had already been knocked out or beaten????
In no particular order, Mayweather has avoided:
1)Margarito
2)Cintron
3)Williams
4)Martinez
5)Clottey
6)Bradley
7)and now it would appear Khan
8)the mother of them all; Pacquiao. For fifty million no less!!!! Instead, mayweather fights ortiz; Pacquiao’s former sparring partner. This is too much ducking outside of the ring instead of inside of the ring. I said it first, “No hall of fame for fruity floyd!!!!”
Whomever runs this site, feel free to contact me by email, and we can help the scribes out there grow a pair so they can ask the real questions.
