Pacquiao scores one-punch KO over Hatton in Las Vegas!
By FightFan.com Staff (03-May-2009)

Pound-for-pound terror Manny ‘The Pacman’ Pacquiao put the boxing world and newly un-retired rival Floyd Mayweather Jr. on notice that he is firmly seated on boxing’s throne. Pacquiao blew former light welterweight champion Ricky Hatton out of the water in less than six minutes on Saturday night, ending the night with a picturesque left hand that put Hatton down and out for several minutes. Pacquiao now looms large as boxing’s best fighter and a generational showdown with Mayweather looks possible for late 2009.

  1. Hatton Jr. Says:

Lucky shot…nothing more than a lucky shot.

  2. Nympha Says:

Lucky shot comes once in a bout, but your dear Englishman kiss the canvass THREE TIMES, read it again, THREE TIMES, thank the bell it rung on time to save him from further humiliation of being knocked out on the first round! What a patty!

  3. Hatton Jr. Says:

    sorry im dumb

  4. Nympha Says:

yes it was a lucky shot

  5. cleto reyes Says:

lucky shot??? did you watch closely… he feint with a half jab with his right then unleashed the left… he knows his punches mate…

  6. cleto reyes Says:

  7. cleto reyes Says:

lucky? he`s lucky he did`nt die!!

  8. power punch Says:

your prediction sucks its like floyd “joy” bigmouth mayweather

what now?if i were u hatton go to Philippines and u gain a lot of endorsement. like morales

and u say: “walah khang kahtohlad manny”

  9. Fem Says:

Yeah definitely, but he’d be chastised by fellow brit for saying ” For me, this is the best beer!” hahahahaa istead of Guiness

  10. knuckle Says:

Alot of cry babies out there! Can’t face reality,
too bad. Ricky went down 3 times and the third time he took a short nap. But then again some of you don’t know that. Sleeping on the job, ya right. Whining and crying! go look for another idol. Better yet don’t even think about boxing, go to a food website and eat your heart out. Cry Babies!

  11. Pub drinker in UK Says:

Lucky Shot! No way Jose! That punch was timed properly! Just like Freddie Roach said “Ricky cocks his hand before he punch”. That’s a bad habit. 3 times Ricky got timed. That’s too bad his trainer Mayweather didn’t point that out to Ricky. Let’s bring out this issue about Mayweather as a trainer because he’s losing alot of fighters and not getting a new fighters. His reputation is shot.

  12. .... Says:

they are in denial, that speed of manny is nothing and that hatton is more powerful that manny…

well being so confident is nothing but a death wish!!! muwah muwah.. fck your mouth mayweather sr and jr!!!! and also hatton./.

  13. irish ona Says:

you can never find a PACQUAIO as sensational as he is in any boxing history. He is the best recipe. A mixed of all good ingridients.
He outshines and made boxing a promising and respectable profession at all times.
Roach is an authentic spice. His kindness, his talent, his passion makes their duo incomparable.

I have never been as proud as I am now as a Filipino.
    I LOVE YOU MANNY!

  14. Pacific Islands Philippines Says:

Ricky Hatton should not think to retire in boxing, It wasn’t the hard loss, maybe Hatton will face again Floyd Mayweather if he continue to box. Manny Pacquiao will definitely pursue his political ambition in 2010, so Light-Welter belt will be abandon by Pacman. Remember Pacquiao has 3 losses and 2 draws. Hatton keep yourself focus in boxing.

  15. Marr Says:

    YES,

FIGHT AGAIN ..YOU MAY TRY DAVID DIAZ AS A TUNE UP GAME..

  16. tohnic Says:

All you Mayweather fan out there, ya all better bet on Pacquiao cuz your boy is gettin knock the fck out in 3 rounds unless he will run his fight like he always does like a chicken. On Mayweather Snr. better watch this fight dumb loser he will witness his own flesh will sleeping like a baby on that canvas.

That’s right best poun 4 pound in boxing Manny Pacquiao….And will remain the best till he retires.

  17. carlos djackal Says:

    I agree that was a lucky punch…..

  18. painkiller Says:

ricky hatton is a goood friend of manny they like each other but in d ring only 1fighter will win sorry ricky hope u are in good condition now and hope u will visit us to phill… see yeahh

  19. george Says:

Yes Ricky, you’re just 30 like Manny, to lose is just part of a game. Pacman is a Hurricane accross the pacific and he never stays in one place. He will surely looks for another places where he can test his power and pushes his limits. you’re a mountain at 140lbs, you’re just struck once and sustained damage but its not the end yet, remember, boxing is a combination of sports and business. fight til youre body says- no mas, no mas! Manny is now fighting for fame and money, you can fight for money.

  20. george Says:

you’re fighting using your heart for years, now use your head. to retire at 30 in boxing is not good. only cowards do that. it’s just happened you faced someone who punch like a heavyweight and moves like featherweight. you’re a good fighter, he’s just better.

  21. Boxing icon Says:

to all that is saying its a lucky punch, better eat & drink nutritious foods bes ur brain is not working properly morons. how cam it be a lucky shot while the fucking hatton is down trice in the fight. its a perfect timing & the british boxer has nothing to left but to go forward & punch living him open. thats a brainless tactics thats why maywether sr wants him to resign.

  22. demon Says:

if ur a real man, accept defeat like a man..the problem with u guys are that u are too arrogant and u always underestimate peoples capablities.u even try to bring down pacquiao questioning his achievements..the question is can u achieve something like manny has achieved today? u should be like manny the “humble” pacquiao… manny qouted after the fight “that he got lucky” even when its very clear how he dominated hatton.thats how humble he is inspite of what happend..hes really a great sportsman..unlike u guys..sore losers..the person i thnk would be like manny is david diaz…he admitted defeat graciously..
