If you didnt absolutely love and marvel at the performance of Calderon the other night then you simply are not a true fan of the "sweet science". Some fighters do not have the natural power that others possess,so the good ones make up for it by utilizing and perfecting their boxing skills. Calderon was brilliant against Cazares by making a very good fighter look clumsy and awkward throughout the fight. Many good defensive fighters know how to TAKE a punch by rolling with it,rolling the shoulders etc.,however,Calderon literally ducks punch after punch as well as using the shoulder and rolling with the punch. He had Cazares stumbling around after totally whiffing punch after punch and countering with sharp punches of his own. He may have the least amount of power as any champion has ever had,however,he is a master of defense,counterpunching and ring generalship. If you dont enjoy watching that then you really dont know what boxing is all about. In my opinion,Calderon should be considered for the top 5 p4p in boxing today.
